Explore the Traces of Hong Kong History and Culture - A Trip to Tai O
A cultural tour to Tai O was organised on 29 June 2026, during which participants visited one of Hong Kong’s most distinctive fishing villages, rich in history and cultural heritage.
During the tour, participants had the unique opportunity to explore the iconic stilt houses under the guidance of a local resident, gaining firsthand insights into the architectural features and traditional lifestyle of Tai O’s fishing community. The tour also included an engaging session on the making of Cha Kwo (Steamed Sticky Rice Dumplings), a cherished intangible cultural heritage of Hong Kong.
This immersive experience allowed students to appreciate the beauty and cultural significance of Tai O, deepening their understanding of Hong Kong’s history and traditions. The event was well received, providing an enriching and enjoyable day for all attendees.
We thank everyone who joined us on this cultural journey and look forward to offering more opportunities to explore Hong Kong’s heritage in the future.
