On 2 April 2026, the Wellness and Enrichment Team from the Faculty of Humanities, in collaboration with the Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages programme, co-organised the workshop ‘Accompanying Students in their Academic and Personal Journey’. The session aimed to familiarise prospective educators with policies regarding Integrated Education in Hong Kong. It further underscored that effective ‘companionship’ extends far beyond academic instruction, as it is rooted in mutual understanding and genuine empathy.
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the students from Caritas Yuen Long Chan Chun Ha Secondary School for their contributions. Through English conversations with our postgraduate students, they shared their personal challenges in learning and recounted memorable instances of the care and support they have received from their teachers. We are also grateful to our postgraduate students for their active engagement and insightful questions. This workshop evolved into a meaningful dialogue, serving as an invaluable lesson on the importance of ‘seeing’ and ‘accompanying’ our students.
